Staff
Volleyball New Zealand is based in Auckland, with some staff located elsewhere in the country.

Steven will assist in the further development and growth in the Volleyball game across New Zealand and will partner with a range of organisations assisting in the growing income streams, including government, local councils, sports and private providers. The main focus and priority will be development and innovation including new products, programmes and strategies to meet the organisations goals.

Katie will be the key interface for capability development with VNZ Associations and other stakeholders. Katie will provide leadership, guidance and support to our community stakeholders. This entails growing capability and a culture of learning and continuous development within the volleyball community. Katie will be a resource to advance Volleyball participation opportunities within regions, volunteer recruitment and retention and all aspects of ensuring Association’s are well set up to move into a successful future for volleyball.

Amanda is Volleyball New Zealand’s Business Administration Manager. Amanda oversees all things business and events. These include indoor and beach tournaments, national and international tours, office operations and systems, and funding and finance.

Jason is the High Performance Coaching Director. He coached a US team to Tokyo 2020 and is a former FIVB professional beach volleyball player. Jason’s focus is to coach the High Performance athletes and NZ A Beach athletes leading them to success on the international stage. He will also support NZ performance coaches indoor and beach.

Johann is Volleyball New Zealand’s Game Development Manager. Johann works closely with athletes and coaches to help develop the game in New Zealand. He is responsible for the running of various development camps and training opportunities while also spending time in the performance area.

Shaun is primarily responsible for growing coaches and supporting the development of others to coach coaches. In addition, Shaun will continue to refine the current systems and structures for coach development. This includes developing and delivering the coaching framework, assessing the coaching pathway, and establishing a network of coaches/coach developers.

Colleen is Volleyball New Zealand’s Performance Manager, Colleen helps oversee performance programmes, working alongside coaches to ensure quality experiences and pathway opportunities.

Fabi oversees the referee development and accreditation process. She also assists High Performance beach athletes with their registrations for international events and the communications with FIVB, CEV and AVC.

Susan works as part of the Events team and is the delivery lead for several of the key VNZ events, the G.J. Gardner Homes NZ Beach Tour and National Volleyball League.

Teresa is Volleyball New Zealand’s Administrator focusing on all aspects from operational support, website management and organisation of the calendar as well as High Performance organisation.
