FORMAL COACHING COURSES

Kiwivolley

KiwiVolley is a game derived from the adult volleyball game with rules and equipment adapted for young people between 5-12 years.

KiwiVolley is characterized by enhancing overall general athletic development, improving basic movement abilities such as agility, balance, speed, and coordination.

It focusses on improving fundamental movement skills such as running, jumping, throwing, catching, passing and striking, while also developing physical literacy.

We have designed a range of KiwiVolley resources, including easy-to-follow booklets and videos to help you get children ENGAGED, encourage SUCCESS and have FUN!

Level 2 - Grow

How: Face-to-face. We know that players learn best by playing. We also know that coaches learn best by coaching. During this award, we want to see coaches coaching.

Who: This award is typically for coaches of junior volleyball players (those who coach Intermediate & Junior Secondary School aged players). If you coach beach or indoorvolleyball, have a couple of years’ experience, and want to continue to grow your coaching knowledge, this award is for you.

What: In this programme, coaches dive deeper into some of the content that was presented in the Level I course. Coaches gain a good understanding of the role of the coach and get a chance to see/experience the principles of effective coaching in practice. We also talk about developing a positive team culture and how we can create a climate of development. For the volleyball component, we endeavour to demonstrate to coaches, the techniques to each skill of the game. Following that, coaches are challenged to design an activity that teaches the skill in a meaningful, game-relevant task.

Cost: $49.95 + GST
